In
Colossians 1:13 we note that there are two spiritual
kingdoms today. One is associated with Satan and is of darkness,
and the other is of light belonging to the Son of the Father’s
love. On this program we focus on what these two kingdoms are
and how the Lord delivered us from the one and transferred us
into the other.
Paul reveals to us in
Colossians 1:13 that God’s kingdom
has not been suspended, but is here among us today in the church
age. In this program we consider how to be in the reality of the
kingdom and not just in an outward manifestation so that one day
we can be with the Lord in the kingdom’s manifestation.
Paul tells us that grace was
given to him for others. This implies a stewardship. Our Father
God has arranged that we, as the many members of His household,
would care for one another by ministering the riches of Christ
that we have enjoyed to the other members for the building up of
the Body of Christ.
All believers
have been entrusted with a stewardship, but how can we be
faithful in this service? The Bible tells us that this is a
matter of laboring, struggling, suffering, and self-denial.
When Paul wrote
this letter to the saints in Colossae,
who received it? What was the expression of the church at that
time? Listening to the fellowship in this program helps us to
reconsider the testimony of the church today in light of the
teaching and practice revealed in the New Testament.
Did you ever
consider that the Bible both begins and ends with an emphasis on
life? Throughout the Bible the Lord presents Himself as life to
man. He is the living water and the Bread of life. He is simply
— the Life. But how can Christ as life become our life? Listen
to this program as we consider how we can subjectively know
Christ as our life today.
Christ is so much to
us today in all His riches. But, did you ever think that the
church is important and valuable to Him? In this program we look
at a few different aspects of the church as presented throughout
the New Testament and consider why the Lord gave Himself up for
her.
As Christians we have
often heard that as braches in the Vine, we need to abide in
Christ in order to bring forth acceptable fruit unto God. What
does Colossians teach us about this subject? Listen to this
program as we take a look at what a practical union with Christ
looks like in our daily Christian life in all our relationships
with others.
As believers, we all
realize that sometimes things can come between us and the Lord
in our fellowship with Him. We may never have thought, however,
that we need to be on guard for good substitutes for Christ. In
this program we consider three matters that cause insulation
between the members of Christ’s Body and Christ, the Head.
The book of Colossians
shows us clearly that God has a goal for us both individually
and corporately to become full grown and to express Him as the
new man. But how are we to reach this goal? In this audio
recording we take a look at God’s operation i
n us and how we can cooperate.
It is too easy to
become entangled in all the earthly things below. Paul
encourages us to seek the things above—the heavenly things. In
this program we consider the heavenly Christ who is interceding,
ministering, and executing God’s plan. Listen to how we can
learn to appreciate, respond to, and reflect this heavenly One
above.
Martin Luther
called this book “the masterpiece of the New Testament.” In this
first program on
Romans we consider the writer and the subject of this
precious pure gospel of God.
Romans 1 tells us that the gospel of God is concerning the
Son. Listen to how the Son is described in His two natures for
the purpose of accomplishing redemption and for life imparting.
How should we
preach the gospel? Listen to this program to find some secrets
of how the sent ones should make the gospel known and how it is
to be received by the called and believing ones.
The good news is
that the wonderful person of Christ has come to take away our
sin, to fill the void of our emptiness, and to save us from a
destiny apart from God. Now what is left for us to do? Just come
as you are, open your heart, and receive Him!
Why is the gospel
so powerful? It is because the righteousness of God is revealed
in it. In this program we discuss what righteousness is, who has
it, and how it is related to our full salvation.
From the time of
Cain people have tried to come forward to God based upon what
they could produce. This is contrary to God’s saving way of
having faith in what He has accomplished on our behalf. Listen
to what the Bible says about salvation through faith, and not by
works.
Romans 1:17 is actually an abstract of the whole book of
Romans. Listen to this discussion to find out the
significance of this verse to the three main sections of
Romans.
The truths in
Romans 1:16 and 17 are exemplified in a short parable in
Luke 18. Listen to this gospel message which speaks clearly of
God’s way of salvation for sinners.
Genesis 1:26 tells us
that God created man in His image to express and represent Him
on this earth. What happened? Listen to this program to find
out, and to consider the good news of the gospel for the
accomplishing of God’s original goal.
Romans 1:18-32 describes the downward trend of the fallen
man who is under God’s condemnation. In this program we learn
how man gave up God and what the terrible consequences were of
his foolishness.
God’s wrath is revealed
upon all ungodliness and unrighteousness of man. What caused man
to come to such a state, and what is the way of restricting evil
and wickedness?
Romans chapter one not only portrays the downward trend of
the fallen man, but also shows us some practical ways of
restricting evil and wickedness. Listen to find out how we can
cooperate in our daily life to stay away from uncleanness,
passions of dishonor, and a disapproved mind.
Although we are all
under God’s condemnation in our fallen natural state, God does
not want us to remain there. In this special gospel message we
find a simple way to depart from ungodliness and unrighteousness
through repentance and confession.
At the end of the book of
Romans we see a very practical expression of the Body of Christ
exhibited in local churches. From the last couple chapters of
Romans we can see that the Body is not only mystical and
spiritual, but also very practical.
